The Biblical definition of greatness = superior in character and
quality.
What did not make John great?
1) His faithful parents
--Parents do not make/break greatness.
2) Being physically related to Jesus.
3) Money, education, etc.
What did make John great?
1) Holy Spirit Power Eph. 5:18
--Let the Holy Spirit dictate your life.
2) His Purity Luke 1:72
--The purer you are the greater you are.
--don't sacrifice the 90% on the altar of 10% (teenage year = 10% of
yrs 20-80.
3) His patience
--Wait on God, don't get ahead of him.
--Stay with the authority that God has placed you under.
4) His proclamation
Give the gospel!
5) His promotion
--Promote Jesus Christ above yourself. Life is not about you. You need
Him!
--Ask "Lord, what is your will for my life today?"
